I got in late last summer when the rate was 9.62%. The drop to 6.89% in November was pretty steep, but that’s still a pretty good return. The in-laws had college funds that they held for the kids, and they’re the ones that suggested putting their $10k each in I Bonds, and I bought for my husband and myself, too.
It will probably level off even more in May. Need to figure out if we should max out for the 2 of us in 2023.
Calculating the actual return is a real bitch, but if I leave them alone for at least 3 years it should be worth it.
Anyone else get in earlier than last year?
