Good, Wisconsin takes the lead and will probably hold onto it for good. As much as it will suck not having the axe, giving pj a chance at a bowl game win will give him and this program a false sense of accomplishment when this year has been one big turd outside of finally claiming Floyd.

To a certain extent, I do agree with you. However, there was a big roster turnover this season plus several injuries forcing in experienced players to play. If they win today and get a bowl game those extra 14 practices and 1 more game is a big deal.

Ironically enough, if the gophers lose today, there is an outside chance the Gophers make a bowl game despite only winning 5 games. The NCAA ruled there were 3 new FBS teams this season who are ineligible for bowl games. And, there are 15 remaining bowl games to be filled with 18 5 win teams playing today. So somehow someway, the gophers could still make a bowl game based upon their APR.

True and even winning Floyd back was marred with referee controversy but at least PJ got the hog back, would have preferred he beat a Iowa 32-7 or something. Iowa ends up a 10-2 record.

That 21 point lead blow to Northwestern really changed the trajectory of this season, then blowing it against Illinois along with the Purdue debacle. Last week vs Ohio State was a given.

But, in year 7, this is the product you roll out? I naively believed in Year 7 the "competitive Depth" would be far superior than what we have seen the last month or so. I get they had a roster turnover along with injuries thus forcing to play guys they normally would not have. But, isn't that where the "competitive depth" comes into play? Zach Zinter ( Michigan's All American Right Guard) broke his leg today so what did Michigan do? Meehh, no worries just move LG to RG and call up 2nd string LG and don't miss a beat.

It's only going to get more difficult with several really good programs joining the Big Ten next year. This offense and QB aren't going to get it done. This slow, soft front seven on defense also needs an overhaul.
