I don't have a clue about the guys we're getting in return. Jorge will be missed but Julien looks to be the real deal and hopefully can produce similar or better results. Also, don't forget that Brooks Lee is likely to make his MLB debut this season and there just wasn't room for Jorge, Edward, and Brooks all on the roster...

Sounds like Seattle is going to pay a significant chunk of Descalfani's salary. Hopefully that leads to another move. This guy was shutdown last year due to elbow injuries and just isn't reliable.

I would’ve preferred we looked into trading lee to fix the logjam at 2nd, try to sell high on a prospect. Without polanco we’re now relying on Correa and buxton (anytime he isn’t injured) to provide a veteran presence on the team. This, along with the idea to slash payroll, indicates ownership and management aren’t prioritizing trying to build on the momentum from last year.

Ankle, knee and hamstring injuries limited Polanco to 80 games in 2023. He was productive when available, slashing .255/.335/.454 with 14 home runs, 48 RBI and six stolen bases. Polanco has played at second base and shortstop with the Twins, with his past three seasons spent primarily at second base.

The Twins have infield depth highlighted by rising second-year infielder Edouard Julien that allowed them to make the deal. Julien is a candidate to take over second-base full time after slashing .263/.381/.459 with 16 home runs, 37 RBI and three stolen bases in 109 games as a rookie in 2023.
