This game is a great illustration of the quandary the Timberwolves face this season in the uber-tough West - especially in terms of playoff matchups. The Lakers are in 8th place - and who wants to face them in the post-season? They are always a threat with Lebron and AD - and are buoyed further by contributions from D'Angelo Russell's 18 ppg, Austin Reaves' 16 ppg and Rui Hachimura's 13 ppg. This is a dangerous team coming together at just the right time. 9-1 over the last ten games - and tied in the entire league only with the 5th place Mavs for the best record in that span. The spread tonight reflects this. The Timberwolves are still a healthy 7-3, but looked entirely iffy and discombobulated in their bad loss to Phoenix two nights ago. This will be the final regular season meeting between the teams. Minnesota is up 2-1. One advantage we do have tonight is that the Lakers will be on the second end of a back to back.

Los Angeles - Nothing has been submitted yet to the league office - but we do know that Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Christian Wood are all Out. Update - The official report is now in with these additions. Gabe Vincent is Out. Lebron James is Questionable. Anthony Davis, as to be expected, is nursing something but is listed as Probable. Who knows? As this is the second half of a back to back, maybe the Lakers are going to rest some main pieces.
